06 May Surviving COVID-19 – When the Lord is Your Shepherd Part 3
He Guides Me For His Name’s Sake
“He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.” Psalm 23:3
One of the most powerful understanding we gained about heaven in the book of Revelation is the atmosphere, the element, and the manner of worship in heaven. In Revelation 4:9-11 we see that “Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying: 11 “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.” Everything exists in this world to fulfill God’s will.
Apostle Paul also helps us to realize this when he said in his letter to the Colossians, “For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him.” (Colossians 1:16). I believe this understanding informs the apostle statement concerning himself when he said. “… now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. (Philippians 1:20). When we choose to live a life that glorifies God, things fall in place, and we find ourselves on the right path.
The earlier we realized that everything in the world revolves around God, the more aligned we are, and the better our lives will be. Everything God created must ultimately fulfill His will, whether by choice or by force. The difference is when we do it by choice, it attracts His blessings. That is why when we center our life around God’s will, God’s purpose and God’s heart, things fall in place. There is peace, joy, order, and beautiful experience of fulfillment when we are determined that our lives will give Him glory.
David said because I have made the Lord my shepherd, “He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.” When we are His own, we declare our allegiance with Him, and we make Him our shepherd, we wear His name. He then becomes invested in us for His name’s sake. Remember that you bear His name as you go through this season, and God is committed to His name.
May God bless you and remember to Stay CALM, SAFE, CLEAN, and SANCTIFIED.
